Murder Mystery Melody

Argyll Hotel presents an evening of intrigue, comedy and a good old sing song. This is a murder mystery with a difference where the show also includes an array of well known songs. Be part of the investigation as our singing characters belt out the old favourites. You can join in as much as you wish so that if you want to solve the clues you can, but if you just want to sit back, sing along and have a good time then that is fine too (we do provide song sheets). We include a sequence of scripted scenes that are performed throughout the event, usually right in the middle of the audience(yes, you could be standing next to an argument or a song or even a fight when it breaks out!). Carefully constructed clues are provided and the actors are briefed with a comprehensive array of information so that they can be reliably interrogated by the audience. Information can be obtained from the actors, from the clues and from the scenes; the more you dig,the more you find out. Themes include: Christmas Valentine 70’s Disco ABBA The Musicals Rock and Roll Ratpack Please Contact 0141 3373313 for more details http://www.argyllhotelglasgow.co.uk

Glasgow Jeans Designer

A Scots designer has been invited to create pairs of jeans for the directors of one of the world's biggest football clubs. Robert Watson, who operates from The Barras in Glasgow, will design jeans for officials at FC Barcelona after meeting with them at the Nou Camp stadium earlier this year. The Glasgow-based clothing technologist met with club directors Didac Lee and Xavi Asensi, who were so impressed with his one-off designs that they now plan to visit his store at The Barras for a fitting in September. Mr Watson, 31, who trades as Rabbie Denim, said it may lead to him designing pairs of jeans for the whole Barcelona squad.

World War Z

There is no doubt that the citizens of Glasgow will be talking about the filming in the city of the Hollywood action movie World War Z for many years to come. The excitement has been magnified with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and their brood of six taking up residence in a historical Scottish mansion on the outskirts of the city. It seems the family wants to take as much advantage as possible of their time in Scotland's largest city, and have been seen out and about, enjoying all it has to offer.
