16th annual Celtic Connections Festival near Argyll hotel Glasgow promises to be biggest yet

With Scotland this year celebrating the homecoming, the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns birth- it seems only fitting Celtic Connections gets in on the party. The Celtic music festival which takes place in Glasgow ever January and features artists from around the globe alongside the very best Scottish talent, returns to the city for a 16th year.
And it promises to be the biggest yet.Celtic Connections 2009 will see no fewer than 1500 artists performing in over 300 events across 14 venues between January15 and February1.
And to celebrate Burns big birthday a 12 hour Burns song marathon and all star ceilidh will take place in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, accompanied by a Jamaican Burns Night in the Old Fruit Market.
