Chief quits role at Chamber of Commerce – Herald (3 February)The chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce is to step down. Richard Cairns, a leading economic development expert, cited family reasons for his decision to resign and will leave immediately. The chamber's president, Claire Dunning, said the organisation had accepted the resignation "with regret". She added: "The board would like to thank him for his contribution over the last nine months. He has resigned for family reasons and we respect his decision. We will now begin the search for his successor and will make an announcement in due course."
